Candlestick Holder Workshop - Home Kit (Air Dry Clay)

Candlestick Holder Workshop - Home Kit (Air Dry Clay)
Join me for an afternoon (morning or evening... whatever fits your schedule) of muddy hands.
We will prepare slabs of air dry clay and use templates to cut out pieces, before assembling them into a classic candlestick holder, perfect for seeing you through winter power outages and cozy moments.
This kit includes air dry clay, which doesn’t require any kiln firings! Please note, it won’t be quite as strong or waterproof as regular kiln fired clay, however certainly enough for a candlestick holder... maybe just don’t take it out in a rainstorm.
Additional details below.
Home kit includes:
materials needed to create one candlestick holder
printed step-by-step instructions with photos
access to an online demonstration video to accompany the written instructions
a beeswax candlestick from Rushing River Apiaries in Terrace, BC
Additional items required:
two rolling slats (optional) - of same thickness (0.5-.75cm) to act as gauges (e.g. pencils, spatula handles)
work surface - something porous to prevent sticking (e.g. a plastic or wooden cutting board, old pillow case, newspaper)
dish of water
Workshop Length
Plan for around 2 hours with a drying break of 1 hour in between. It’s well suited to a relaxing morning or afternoon, where you can use the drying break to go for a walk with a friend or enjoy a cup of tea and a book.
The clay also has to dry for 12-24 hours before painting/varnishing.
Level of Experience
This beginner workshop is suitable for those who have never touched clay before. Those who have some experience may still enjoy the chance to do some handbuilding at home.
Significant shipping overages will be refunded.
