Because drinks just taste better from a mug that you made yourself…
Enjoy a peaceful and uplifting November morning with an ocean view and muddy hands!
We will use slabs of stoneware clay to make a mug, using a variety of surface decoration techniques to express and explore our creativity.
SCHEDULE
We’ll spend the workshop in the cozy and welcoming (oceanview!) kitchen of Bayview Garden in K’il Kun (Sandspit), first going over the basics of the ceramic process and then tackling the handbuilding of our mugs.
Mid-way through we’ll need to take a break to allow the pieces to dry slightly. There will be hot beverages and an array of food available to enjoy as we wait.
Once the clay has set up a bit, handles will be added, edges softened, and finishing touches completed.
Our time together will finish around 12:30pm. There is a ferry back to Graham Island departing at 1:30pm.
Once the holders have completely dried, I will fire them twice and glaze them your choice of translucent glaze.
Your piece should be ready within 4-6 weeks of the workshop, and will be available for pickup at my studio (or shipped for an additional charge).
