We’ll spend the workshop in the cozy and welcoming Gather, first going over the basics of the ceramic process and then tackling the handbuilding of our candlestick holders.
Mid-way through we’ll need to take a break to allow the pieces to dry slightly. There will be beverages and snacks available to enjoy as we wait. Once the clay has set up a bit, handles will be added, edges softened, colour added and finishing touches completed.
Our time together will finish around 5:00pm (some folks may finish earlier, some might take a bit longer).
Once the holders have completely dried, I will fire them twice and glaze them with a clear gloss glaze. Your piece should be ready within a few weeks of the workshop, and will be available for pickup at either Gather or my studio.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners to pottery! If you already have experience with pottery, you may find some of the information repetitive, but I would still be more than happy to have you.
