We’ll spend the workshop in the historic homestead house at the Hekate’s Retreat in K’il Kun (Sandspit).
The space has:
one single stall, gender neutral bathroom
a variety of sturdy chairs & stools
a small set of stairs at entry

This workshop is open for complete beginners to pottery.
It is suitable for ages 16+.
I strive for my workshops to be a safe and welcoming environment for all genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations and abilities.

We’ll start by going over the basics of the ceramic process and then tackling the handbuilding of our candlestick holders.
There will be warm beverages and a platter of nibbles to enjoy.
Once the clay has set up a bit, edges will be softened, and finishing touches completed.
Our time together will finish around 4pm.
Once the candlestick holders have completely dried, I will fire them twice and glaze them your choice of glaze.
Your piece should be ready within 4-6 weeks of the workshop, and will be available for pickup at my studio (or at a TBA time in Daajing Giids).
There is a ferry back to Graham Island departing at 4:30pm (or see below on ideas for how to turn it into a lovely little staycation!). -

The Sandspit Community Society is also hosting a spooky movie night at the community hall that evening!
“The [workshop] was a fantastic experience!
Amber created a lovely, calm learning environment for all levels, with many practical and visual examples and demonstrations... I would highly recommend any of her workshops to anyone interested in dipping their toes into a new craft, or those looking to rekindle an old hobby.”
