Because food tastes more beautiful on dishes you made..
Join me for a relaxing and uplifting Sunday afternoon of clay and creativity!
We’ll use slabs of beautiful dark brown stoneware clay to handbuild a textured serving platter and accompanying stack of tiny dishes.
-
We’ll spend the workshop in the warm and welcoming Gather restaurant.
The space has:
one single stall, gender neutral bathroom
wide, sturdy, armless chairs
a wheelchair accessible entry ramp
-
This workshop will feel more comfortable if you’ve touched clay before.
That being said, I’ll happily host beginners that have a positive and easy going mindset.
It is suitable for ages 16+.
I strive for my workshops to be a safe and welcoming environment for all genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations and abilities.
-
We’ll start by going over the basics of the ceramic process and then tackling the handbuilding of our platter and tiny dishes.
There will be warm beverages and an afternoon snack to enjoy.
Once the clay has set up a bit, texture will be added, edges softened, and finishing touches completed.
Our time together will finish around 4pm.
Once the platters and dishes have completely dried, I will fire them twice and glaze them your choice of glaze.
Your piece should be ready within 4-6 weeks of the workshop, and will be available for pickup at my studio (or at a TBA time in Daajing Giids).
